New long period southerly with a touch of east energy at the buoys. Below are the maps of April 8 through 10 that show the fetch that generated it.

NW swell came up nicely yesterday evening (see pictures above), but didn't quite reach the 8ft 12s Surfline prediction for this morning. Home guess for Hookipa is around head and a half to double and clean wind conditions in the morning.

        • 1.2ft
          , 11s, NW 325º

Small numbers at Pauwela. The easterly windswell today comes from 100 degrees and as such it shouldn't play much of a role on the north shore. The other energies are very small, but the NW one is predicted to increase throughout the day reaching 4ft 13s at sunset and 8ft 12s tomorrow morning according to Surfline. Home guess for Hookipa is around waist to occasionally chest high in the morning building to head high plus at sunset. The wind maps below call for Kona in the morning and NW winds in the afternoon, but the timing of the switch of the wind due to the passage of a front is always difficult to predict.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.

        • 0.5ft
          , 18s, NNW 340º

Mostly declining easterly windswell again at Pauwela. That half foot 18s from NW comes from the marginal fetch indicated in the maps below of April 10 and 11 and should build to 1.5ft 17s by sunset (according to Surfline), which isn't much but at least could show some very inconsistent sets in the head high range.

The other energy worth noticing is the short period NW at Waimea and NW buoys. You guys must have noticed that there's a low spinning to our NW (that's why there's no trades) and that's where this energy comes from. Despite all that, home guess for Hookipa remains around waist to chest high maximum and as clean as it gets in the morning as far as wind conditions with very light Kona flow.

Wind map at noon. The other ones can be found here.
